The Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League ended the 1983-84 season with a record of 57 wins and 18 losses, finishing first in the NHL's Smythe Division. The Oilers were led by Wayne Gretzky, who scored 87 goals and 215 assists for a total of 302 points. Gretzky also led the league in assists and points per game.

The Oilers advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals, where they defeated the New York Islanders in five games to win their first Stanley Cup championship.
